The authors of “Seychelles, not just another place, another world”, are Mr. Dong Chang Jeong, Seychelles Honorary Consul General to South Korea and Ms. Julie Kim, Regional Manager of Seychelles Tourist Office (STO), Korea. Each has been in Seychelles more than 50 and 30 times respectively over the past 10 years. Mr. Jeong is also the initiator of Seychelles Eco-friendly Marathon which this February 2014 will be run for the 7th consecutive year.
Mr. Jeong says “I tried to incorporate essential information for Investors as well facilitate the needs of potential investors from Korea. Now that the awareness of Seychelles and travellers are increasing, more entrepreneurs are showing interest in investing in the Seychelles – especially fisheries and renewable energies”.
For both the Seychelles Honorary Consul General to Korea and the Seychelles Tourist Office, publishing a book on Seychelles has been a long cherished dream. There belief is that the book will contribute tremendously to the promotion and better understanding of Seychelles, which will generate more exchanges and cooperation between the two countries – in tourism, culture, economy, education, and more.
Ms. Julie Kim says “We are full of passion and love for Seychelles. I expect this book will contribute to general awareness of Seychelles and create more FIT and NICHE travelers”.
All the profits earned through selling the book will be donated to worthy causes in Seychelles. This will include such organisations and charities such as JJ Spirit (Youth activities), Children’s Foundation, Pearl Seychelles and other Sports and Cultural Events that STO in Korea organizes.
The Seychelles Tourist Office in Korea held a Book Launch on the 30th April, 2013, in Gaheo Gallery. Present were Korea’s major media journalists and the Friends of Seychelles and where there was also a special photographic exhibition of Seychelles.
